Brittney Jane Gargol (August 31, 1996) was an 18 year-old resident of Saskatoon who was murdered by her best friend, Cheyanne Rose Antoine. [6]

Early Life

While she was alive, she worked as a cashier for Saskatoon German Cultural Centre.
She also worked in catering for Vern's Pizza-Head Office Saskatoon.
She was considered an ambitious and hardworking person for the way that she had always managed to balance work and her academia in school.
Death
In the night of the 24th and early morning of 25th of March in 2015, while the two friends were out drinking, Cheyanne Rose Antoine and Brittney Gargol found themselves arguing with each other by the end of the night. [5]The two friends were drunk during the argument and Antoine would go on to strangle Gargol with the use of a belt that she wore that night. In the early morning of the 25th of March, a man found Gargol's body on side of Valley Road, on the southern outskirts of Saskatoon. [2]
Trial

For the next two years, a trial ensued which led to several discoveries at the time of the incident.
Antoine had told the police and later prosecutors that she had left her friend, Brittney Gargol, early during their night out after her friend went home with an unknown man.
She later said that she and Gargol went to the Colonial Pub and Grill, but after reviewing security tape evidence, police found they were never at the bar.

During the investigation, the police checked the social media life of the victim along with her friend, Antoine, and found clues that would eventually lead to the conviction.

The murder weapon that Antoine used to choke Gargol would be revealed during the investigation.
A few hours before the murder took place, the police found a selfie that was taken with both Antoine and Gargol.
They found that Antoine wore the belt that was used to strangle Gargol to death.

Brittney loved doing outdoor activities with her family including snowboarding, camping and boating.
She also enjoyed being fashionable, shopping at the mall, and showing off her attire to her large social network of friends.
Brittney was adventurous, independent, strong willed and always spoke her mind.
She was beautiful, vibrant, warmhearted, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
