Brigitte Trogneux Macron is a former teacher and the wife of French politician and President-Elect Emmanuel Macron.

Brigitte was born in Amiens.

Brigette comes from a family of successful chocolatiers in Amiens known for their macarons. ^[1] The business goes back 5 generations. ^[1] It is said that the family has had macarons d'Amiens for generations - and now they have the Macron d'Amiens. ^[1] In addition to teaching, she was an actress and ran a theater club. ^[1] When Macron turned 18 she left her family to be with him. ^[1]

Brigitte's has 3 children from her first marriage when her married name was Auzière.

They are adults: an engineer, a cardiologist, and a lawyer.

She is 24 years older than Macron and was his French and theater teacher at La Providence, a private high school in Amiens when he was 15 and 16. His parents attempted to break them up by sending him to Paris to finish the final year of his schooling, but they stayed together after he graduated and were married in 2007. They live with Trogneux's three children from her previous marriage.

Asked by a reporter why her husband was "so good at politics", she replied: "He is good at everything.

Not just politics, you're being quite restrictive."

And added: "I'm still yet to find an area where he isn't good."
