Brian Barbosa (born September 2, 1973 Passaic, New Jersey) is a professional boxer from Providence, Rhode Island. His fights have been televised by the USA Network and ESPN. His nickname is "The Bull." He has boxed professionally from middleweight to light heavyweight.[15]

Barbosa lost his pro debut to Julio Torres in 1991.

He rebounded by winning eight of his next nine matches.

He defeated Joe Gardener in 2011 and John Johnson in 2012.

He last competed on November 23, 2019.

He defeated Tim Cronin at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island. His professional record is 32 wins and 7 losses with 23 knockouts.

In his sixth professional match, he defeated Ronald Hasbrouck at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He defeated Robert Allen at the Civic Center in Providence,Rhode Island on August 11, 1996 for the USBA middleweight title. He defended the title by defeating Ron Johnson in 1997. He then defeated James Mason to set up a fight with Antwun Echols. The Barbosa-Echols match was billed as a world title eliminator match.

While the leading the fight on points,he was ko'd against Antwun Echols on February 10, 1998 at Casino Rouge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The match was televised in the USA Network. That ended his proposed matchup against Bernard Hopkins. As of July 2020,he is ranked 215th in the world in his weight divison by Boxrec. BoxRec has him ranked 31st in the United States in the light heavyweight division,.

WBO NABO Middleweight Title

In January 1999, he defeated Kevin Tillman at the Civic Center in Pensacola, Florida for the World Boxing Organization (NABO)middleweight title. He successfully defended his title against Maurice Brantley in 2000 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York.

He is in a relationship with Gina Russo of North Providence, Rhode Island.

Barbosa has a daughter from a previous relationship.

Barbosa is trained by Roland Estrada and he is affiliated with the Big Six Boxing Academy. which is owned by the Estrada family.
