Brandy Rusher is a former contestant of America's Next Top Model. She also works as a hair stylist. She lives in and hails from Houston, Texas.

Rusher is also a gospel singer.

Rusher is the daughter of Lawanna McKinnon and Gary Rusher, who were married one year after she was born.

She was brought up in a strict church.

At age 12 she left the church and decided to pursue modeling.

Rusher studied fashion design at Houston Community College. She attended Barbara Jordan High School, Kashmere High School and Booker T. Washington High School. ^[0]

In her appearance on America's Next Top Model, she was known for her red afro. Her hair was designed by her mother, Lawanna McKinnon.

Some criticized her brash behavior on the show, while others praised it.

Rusher said after leaving the show, “The show gave me an inside look allowing me to have a reason to strive harder.

I was able to see how I was perceived and now I have a point to prove how I have changed and the areas that I have been working on.

I would control my attitude and pay more attention to other people’s feelings.

I probably would have stayed more to myself and focused on the competition rather than the friendships.”

In May 2010, Rusher was arrested for resisting arrest after playing loud music at her apartment.

She faced a Misdemeanor.

In March 2017, Rusher was shot with a high-powered rifle.

Brandy's brother, Wayne Rusher, and another relative named Christopher Beatty were also shot. She is currently in intensive care. ^[7]
