James Baker, better known as BlocBoy JB, is an American Rapper based out of Memphis, Tennessee. He is known for his songs "Look Live", "Rover" and "Shoot."

BlocBoy is originally from South Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee but grew up in North Memphis in the Raleigh neighborhood. He is the third-youngest of his mom's seven children. His mother worked at the local Nike factory. He shares his name with his father who is serving a 25 year sentence. Blocboy attended Craigmont Middle School. When he was 14, eveyone would call him Fatboy due to his chubbiness, but later after "fighting and running from the police", he got the nickname Blocboy.

In his youth, Blocboy would listen to Eminem and T.I. which motivated him to start rapping. During school, he would write songs in class. Blocboy would spend his time in school gambling and skipping class.

Blocboy has released three mixtapes including WHO AM I 3, THE PURPLE M&M, and SIMI.

A vast majority of his songs are produced by Tay Kieth and his music videos are shot by Fredrivk Ali.

Blocboy has known Tay Kieth since he was 14-years-old.

Blocboy is known for his dancing and has three signature moves; the "wind it up".

In , Drake, appeared on "Look Alive" with BlockBoy. They originally connected through Instagram.

On March 26, 2018, a song called, "Bad Company" by ASAP Rocky and Blocboy JB was released on Social media. The YouTube release of the song has reached more than a million views.
