Bill Wells is the mayor of El Cajon, California. A Republican, he was appointed to the office in 2013 after his predecessor resigned. He was elected in 2014.
He and his wife Bettie have three children and two grandchildren.
They work in the mental health profession, she as a clinician and he as an administrator.
Their eldest son is a marine. They also have a middle daughter and a second son.
In high school he wrote editorials.
From 2008 until 2012, Wells served on the El Cajon City Council.
He and is wife belong to Skyline Wesleyan Church.
