Bhavna Vaswani is an Indian American social worker and psychologist. She is the wife of Shyamalan moviemaker Manoj Nelliyattu “M. Night.” Born in India, during the Idi Amin regime, Bhavna spent the first year of her life in Uganda before her family was expelled from the country along with other Asians.

The family moved to Hong Kong first, then to the USA in 1986. She knew she wanted to be a therapist since she was a teenager. She attended the University of New York where she met Shyamalan and then married him in 1993. Bhavna has completed her Ph.D. in clinical developmental psychology and began to practice as a therapist. She was swift to find herself restless though. She grew up in a very religious family and was deeply impregnated with altruistic values. She and Shyamalan created M in 2001. Night Shyamalan Foundation, which supports the emerging world leaders in their efforts to overcome obstacles created by poverty and social inequality in their respective communities.

And as her mother taught her the value of giving back to society, she has been doing volunteer work since she was 11 years old.

Throughout 2010 he also worked as a producer in the horror film Demon, in addition to his directorial work. In the year 2008, he received Padma Shri from the Indian government regarding his awards.

Her family members were originally British Uganda citizens but her parents came to India to have her in order to have a connection with the native land. They then returned to Uganda where she had spent the first year of her life. But during the expulsion of Asians under Idi Amin ‘s rule, her family was forced to flee the country. They moved to Hong Kong for the first time, which was still a British colony. Bhavna ‘s father founded an import/export company there, and she enrolled in a local school, studying under the British education system in Hong Kong. But finally, the company of her father went bankrupt and they decided to move to America where he’d got a job. She was seventeen at the time. She has three brothers, an older sister, a younger sister, and a brother. Bhavna had been looking to be a therapist since she was 14. She said she was one of those kids at school who would be told their problems by the other kids. She even took in one time a friend of hers who had run away from home. Her older sister told her there’s a profession that would allow her to help others more. She ‘d aspired to become a therapist ever since. Both her parents are now in the USA. In August 2007 her father was reportedly dead. Her mother has since relocated to India. Bhavna frequently visits her though not as often as her mother wishes. Her mother in the United States also visits her and her brothers and spends time with each of her children.
