Biography
Belkys Nerey attended High School in Cuba, where she grew up. From there, She enrolled at Florida International University and completed her education with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.[3][24]
Belkys Nerey is a five-time Emmy award-winning journalist who has has been a TV junkie her whole life.
Belkys Nerey is the main anchor, and host of her cooking show at WSVN 7News.
Career
Belkys Nerey started her television career as a correspondent for a South Florida cable station.
She was a one-man army for more than two years (shooting her own video and editing her own stories), before heading for Connecticut to accept work as a general assignment reporter for WTNH-8, the ABC affiliate in New Haven.
Belkys Nerey has covered major news stories and, up until recently, co-anchored the pop-culture driven Deco Drive. At Deco Drive, she worked with individuals like WSVN-Channel 7 star Louis Aguirre.
Later in the years in 1994, she went onto join Miami based Fox News affiliate WSVN-7, where she still currently works at WSVN-7 news is the focal point of success in her career. During her time at WSVN-7 News, she covered major news, co-hosted WSVN-7 entertainment segment Deco Drive and eventually got the opportunity to host her own cooking show. She anchors the 5,6,10 and 11pm newscasts, alongside Craig Stevens[3]
Her lighthearted interview style and fun loving-personality make everything she does witty, refreshing, and – just like Belkys herself, completely original.
Belkys Nerey is one of those few journalists that draw the audience to the television screen.
She has covered many historic events like the election of Pope Francis, Kate and Prince Williams' royal wedding, among others.[21]
