As teacher, Barry has developed a way to have a connection with each of his students through the art of handshake.

He personalizes a handshake with each of his students as a way to better communication and attentiveness in the classrooms as peers.

He was inspired by LeBron James who has a personalized handshake with each teammate.

^[7]And, he realized how unique it would be to have a personalized handshakes after a past student would be late to her classroom due to her having to do her own personalized handshake with her.

^[4]The results have been beneficial as many of his students come prepared to learn in class.

A video of Barry doing the handshakes with each of his students, one by one, right outside the classroom went viral.

He began to be interviewed by most big media publications in the country, including: Today Show, Good Morning America, TIME Magazine online, Huffington Post, NBC Nightly News and many others.
