Avi Lele is the founder and CEO of Stockpile.
Early life and education
Lele grew up in Tennessee and Massachusetts.
He received his Bachelors of Science in Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1989.
In 1993 Lele received his Jurisdoctorate from Harvard Law School, whereafter he practiced law for 16 years at Ropes & Gray and Kirkland & Ellis.
Stockpile
In 2011 Lele founded Stockpile which is a unique stock broker and investment platform that allows users to purchase small amounts of household-name stocks through gift cards.
He came up with the idea when he was looking to buy Christmas presents for his nieces and nephews.
He wanted to give them something more substantial and longer lasting than toys.
He thought that stocks would be a good idea but found the process too frustrating and pricey.
He gave up on that effort and bought some toys anyway.
But the idea never left his mind.
Personal life
Lele resides in Palo Alto.
He describes his daily life on his bio on Stockpile that you can find "him and his wife, Anuja, cheering on their kids' sports teams or biking to some hole-in-the-wall restaurant."
He holds the Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.
