Austin James Wilkerson is a former student of University of Colorado Boulder.
Rape
On August 10, 2016, Wilkerson was sentenced by Boulder District Judge Patrick Butler to two years of work or school release and 20 years to life on probation. Wilkerson was convicted of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman in May 2016.
On March 15, 2014, Wilkerson sexually assaulted a female student after she had too much to drink at a St. Patrick's Day party while telling her friends he would take care of her.
Controversy
Wilkerson's sentencing by Judge Patrick Butler has drawn comparisons in national coverage and on social media to Brock Turner and Robert Harold Goldman.
