Arjun Bhardwaj was an Indian college student from Bangalore. He is from a very wealthy family.

He was employed as a research analyst at Onionfans, a media news company based in Bangalore.

On April 3, 2017, Arjun committed suicide by jumping off the 19th floor of the five-star hotel, Taj Lands End in Mumbai. ^[1] Before his death, he posted a 1 minute 44 second tutorial on Facebook Live titled: 'How to Suicide'. ^[1] A video surveillance from the outside showing the actual jump later surfaced on social media.

In the video, he is seen with a bottle of red wine, smoking a cigarette, eating bacon pasta, and wearing a bathrobe. ^[1]

Prior to recording the video, Arjun had also posted a photo onto Facebook that was captioned: 'View to die for', captioned with a smiley Emoji. ^[1]

Bhardwaj used a chair in the hotel room to smash the double-pane windows of his room.

^[1] It took police and hotel staff nearly an hour to reach the hotel's 11th floor terrace, as there was no way it could be accessed.

He was taken to Bhabha Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. ^[1]

Police sources said that Bhardwaj appeared to be a drug addict, and that his browsing history indicated a fascination for death.

There were lots of websites that he visited that had to do with dying, and celebrating death. ^[1]

His suicide notes were addressed to family members, but were mostly about how death was a celebration to him. ^[1]

He also informed his roommated that the he was vacating the apartment that he was sharing with other students that he was moving out.
