Ariane Lipski (born January 26, 1994) is a Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter nicknamed "Queen of Violence".She competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the Flyweight division and is a former Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) champion.
Early Life
Ariane Lipski was born and raised in Curitiba in Brazil.She is of Polish ethnicity.At the age of 17, her mother moved to another city and left her in Curitiba.Lipski was left living with her grandfather, who was sickly and retired, and couldn’t afford to give her much more than a room in his house.“I had to work to support myself,” Lipski said in an interview with MMA Junkie.“To buy food, to catch buses, to afford the gym.” Lipski had been
training muay Thai by then, and had even done some amateur fights.But with her new
financial needs, a problem arose: between working, studying and training, something had to give.
“I stopped studying in order to work and keep training,” Lipski said.“I could choose to study and work, but I liked training too much – so I chose that.At
the time, I didn’t really know what I was doing.I was
just going with what I wanted.”
First, she worked at a lawyer’s office and later a dental clinic.At
the age of 18 she met her current coach, Renato Rasta and began to see MMA as a viable career path.Her coach
eventually got her a job working the front desk of the gym so she could focus more on training.
“I could leave the desk to train, so I could just fully put my effort into it all day,” Lipski said.
Fighting Career
On November 3, 2013 Ariane Lipski made her debut as a professional mixed martial arts fighter in Nitrix Champion Fight 17 beating Daiana Torquato.Lipski later fought in Gladiator Combat Fight (GCF), MMASH (MMA Super Heroes), Curitiba Top Fight, Copa Striker's House, and Imortal FC.Lipski made her KSW debut on November 28, 2015 beating Katarzyna Lubonska.Lipski claimed the inaugural KSW women’s flyweight title in Dublin, Ireland with a first-round rear-naked choke victory over Mariana Morais in October 2017.At KSW 42, Lipski successfully defended the title for first time, claiming a unanimous decision win over Silvana Gomez Juarez, before signing for the UFC.In January 2019, Lipski made her UFC debut losing the match to Joanne Calderwood.Lipski is scheduled to fight Molly McCann in her second UFC fight on June 22, 2019.
