Anthony D. McClanahan is an American former professional Footballer for the Canadian Football League who made national news headlines after he was charged for the murder his wife, Keri KC McClanahan. [1]
Biography
Born and raised in the city of Bakersfield, California, he grew up in the area for most of his life. He attended Bakersfield High School where he was a star American Footballer. [1]
Education
During high school, he was recruited by Washington State University where he became one of the distinguished players on the squad. He played three years with the college team. [1]

After college, he was offered a try out with the Dallas Cowboys and remained with the team during the early 1990s. He never played an NFL game.

Anthony formed part of the Calgary Stampeders for 4 years. He played as a linebacker.

Some time after retirement, he lived near Bellingham, Washington where he became a fitness coach and private personal exercise trainer. His business was called 41 Sports.

On November 2nd, 2017, while Anthony and Keri stayed at a rented condominium in Park City, a violent struggle between the couple ensued. During an altercation with his wife, Anthony used a knife that Keri worn sheathed in a nylon paracord bracelet. During the struggle, Anthony managed to cut her in many areas around the neck, and ultimately slicing her throat. Instantly, she succumbed to her death.
Neighbors have stated that they saw Anthony crawling from the spot where he killed his wife until he could flag down police.
He initially offered a different statement until investigators found evidence of what had happened.
He has been arrested and has been charged with the murder of his wife.
