Annie Ostojic
Annie Ostoji is an American Inventor and Scientist from Munster, Indiana. She was selected to be in Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2018.
Biography
Annie grew up in Munster and attended Frank H. Hammond Elementary School and Wilbur Wright Middle School.
She was in excellent student, showing advanced knowledge in math and science subjects.
Annie currently attends Munster High School and takes a number of AP classes including AP Chemistry, AP Biology, Honors Pre-Calculus, and Trigonometry. In the summer of 2016, Annie completed an online college credit course in chemistry from Brigham Young University.
When she was 13-years-old, Annie designed an energy efficient microwave that cooks food more thoroughly by ensuring that power isn't lost around the corners.
The project won her the 2015 Broadcom Maters Competition.
In addition she created a system to collect solar power from indoor lighting and use it to charge batteries.
Annie was invited to the White House twice to meet with President Obama. She has a number of patents pending.
Awards and Accolades
Annie accomplishments include Forbes 30 Under 30, Finalist at Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) (9th grade), Finalist in Mathcon National Math Competition, Student Government, 1st place state Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair, 1st place at Northwestern Regional Science Fair and President's Award Valparaiso University, Davidson Fellowship Honorable Mention 2016, and Guest Speaker at Computer History Museum for Design, Code, Build Program Jun 2017.
