Professional Life
She was the Competitor at "BattleBots" in 2002.
Andrea is the national competitor with unique 250lb, 120lb, 3lb, 1lb, and 150-gram combat robots.
She is also one of the contributing editors for Servo Magazine "For the Robot Innovator". Andrea also featured in the 2009 mini-series of BattleBots for CBS College Sports with our 120lb robot, Category 5.
Due to her love for robotics, Andrea was at the host robotic exhibitions at local schools and mentor teams to promote the interest of younger students and increase female involvement and did earn multiple national awards, including 1st place, Best Engineered, Coolest Robot, and Outstanding Sportsmanship.[6]
She was employed as the Senior Development Engineer II at Zimmer Biomet in June 2008 in Miami, Florida. Andrea also completed the design and development process of three product systems from concept to commercialization, including 3D modeling, drawings, testing protocols/reports, and documentation requirements, and also effectively navigated two mergers, Biomet (2012) and Zimmer Biomet (2014).[7]

Currently, Andrea is the co-founder of MakeMIA Makerspace, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes education in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) through hands-on experience. She spends eleven years in the medical device industry as a research and development engineer leading projects across multiple domestic and international sites.[4][5]
Education
Andrea attends the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart and graduated in 2006. She is also involved in BattleBots, Amnesty International, BEST robotics, Build It Design Challenge, Rochester Robot Rampage.[2]
In 2006, she attended the University of Miami to attain Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and became President of UM Robotics, the Society of Women Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Andrea graduated in 2010 as an honor student. She attained her Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same university in 2011[8]
Relationship
Andrea Gellatly Suarez’s husband is Michael Anthony Gellatly.
She met Mike during high school when Andrea was competing with light-weight robots.
Her now-husband, Mike, was on UM’s robotics team at that very time.
After dating for years since 2002, Andrea and her beau took their relationship further by getting married.
Andrea exchanged her wedding vows alongside her husband on September 17, 2018.

Andrea is active on her Facebook account Andrea Gellatly posting stories, pictures, and videos of her trip to various states regarding her competition in BattleBots. Meanwhile, although Andrea has not made her personal Instagram account she posts on Witch Doctor Instagram which has 13.4k followers to date. With the same name Witch Doctor[9], she has a YouTube channel created on 22nd June 2011 where they post videos of their shows. The channel till today has received 587,067 views and 7.43K subscribers.

Andrea is competing for ABC’s Battlebots leading Witch Doctor team, as a competitor the channel gives them a stipend and the winner gets the prize money of $50,000.
She started making things and robots as her hobby and today it has turned into a full-time profession.

She has won several awards for an outstanding job. Andrea has also co-founded a non-profit organization as well. It is fair to assume that she has earned and accumulated quite a fortune that allows her to build robots costing thousands of dollars.
From her fascinating career as a robotic engineer, Andrea has earned quite an impressive income to date.
