Alyssa Bates Webster is the daughter of Gil Bates and Kelly Jo Bates.[1]
She is the younger sister of Zachary Bates, Lawson Bates, and Nathan Bates, Michaela Bates, and Erin Bates Paine, and the older sister of Trace, Katie, Jackson, Warden, Isaiah, Addallee, Ellie, Callie-Anna, Judson, and Jeb Bates, Tori Smith, Carlin Stewart, and Josie Balka.[1]
She is married to John Webster.
She is the mother of Allie, Lexi and Zoey Webster.[2]
Early Life
Alyssa Joy "Bizz" Bates was born on November 9, 1994, to Gil Bates and Kelly Jo Callaham.
She was the sixth child, and they thirteen more children came after her.
Alyssa started preparing meals for the family at age twelve.
She was also the family's secretary and clothes shopper.[2]
Alyssa was so close to her paternal grandmother, Mama Jane, as a child.
She still maintains this bond as an adult.[2]
Childhood Education
Alyssa was homeschooled growing up.
She and her siblings were raised as active participants of Bill Gothard's Institute in Basic Life Principles.[2]
Courtship and Marriage
Alyssa started working on Congressman Daniel Webster's campaign for the United States House of Representatives in 2012.
Due to this campaign work she got to know John Webster, who she became attracted to.
John took Alyssa out on a date on November 6, 2013 at Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville, where he gave her a necklace.
They had lunch on the porch at Rafferty's before heading to Rock City in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he asked her to enter a courtship.[1]
Engagement
Alyssa's Wedding to John Webster
On January 16, 2014, John took Alyssa out to a beach at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Realizing what was happening, Alyssa began crying, and John proposed to her.
After that, they took a rented car to Ruth's Chris Steak House for dinner. Alyssa described the dinner as
"the most elegant restaurant I've ever visited".
Wedding
Alyssa and John Webster got married on May 24, 2014, at Salem Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. [1]
Her maid of honor was her new sister-in-law, Tori Webster.
Her bridesmaids were Tori, Michaela, and Whitney Bates, Andrea Warren, Liz Miller, Erin Paine, and Bethany Chavez.[1]
Her flower girls were her sisters, Addallee and Ellie Bates.
Her brother Nathan Bates was among the groomsmen, and her brother Judson Bates was one of the ring bearers.
The wedding was officiated by her dad, Gil Bates.[1]
