Alyssa Azar is 19 year old mountaineer and adventurer from Queensland, Australia. Her father Glenn Azar is a also an adventurer who has completed many treks. Alyssa's 12 year old brother, Christian is autistic.
Achievements
On May 21, 2016 Alyssa Azar, became the youngest Australian to ever climb Mount Everest at the age of 19 on her third attempt. The previous record holder was Rex Pemberton, aged 21, in 2005. When she reached the summit of Everest she left a photograph of her autistic brother on the summit. Alyssa first tried climbing Everest at 17 in 2014 but was thwarted by an earthquake and her 2015 attempt was doomed by an avalanche.
Alyssa’s career as an adventurer started at four years old when she started bushwalking with her father, Glenn, in the Toowoomba hills.
She would later complete the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea at age eight, Everest Base Camp at 10, Australia’s top 10 peaks at 12 and Kilimanjaro at 14.

Future
Alyssa now has plans to complete the seven summits, the highest peaks on each continent, as well as another Everest summit.
She also spoke about leading Kokoda Trail treks like her father Glenn.
