Alexander Kueng (Police Officer)

Alexander Kueng (Police Officer) is a former American police officer who served the Minneapolis Police Department. He gained international media attention in June 2020, after he was arrested and charged in the death of George Floyd. [3] [1]

Charges

Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office upgraded charges against Alexander Kueng who knelt on George Floyd’s neck and charged the other three officers at the scene with of aiding and abetting murder. [1]

Kueng, Tou Thao, and Thomas Lane were each charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder while committing a felony, and with aiding and abetting second-degree murder manslaughter with culpable negligence. [3]

All four of the men, including Derek Chauvin (Police Officer), face a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.

Multiple videos have been released on George Floyd’s arrest, with one showing him pinned down by three different officers near a patrol car while a fourth stands near his head.

"Please, please, please, I can't breathe," Floyd begged in one video caught by a bystander.

"My stomach hurts.

My neck hurts.

Please, please.

I can't breathe."

He died while in custody that day.
