Alberto Gomez Alcala
Alberto Gómez Alcalá is executive director of institutional development, economic research and communication at Grupo Financiero, Banamex-Citigroup and executive president of the Mexican Banking Association.
With more than 30 years' experience at Banamex, he is responsible for economic analysis in all its modes -- macroeconomics, finance, sectors and regional activity -- as well as institutional communication.
Alcalá is the director and editor responsible for all of Banamex-Citigroup's economic, political and social publications.
He is secretary of the Banamex Prize in Economics and on the board of the subsidiaries of Grupo Financiero Banamex-Citigroup, as well as AFORE (Pension Funds) and Mutual Funds.
Alcalá has also taken part in institutional and organizational efforts affecting the transformation of Mexico's financial system.
He chairs the ICCBE (International Conference of Commercial Bank Economists) and is on the board of Fundacion ABC.
Alcalá has an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
