Albert Woodfox
Albert Woodfox (born 1947) is a former Black Panther and political activist who spent 43 years in solitary confinement at the Louisiana State Penitentiary (also known as Angola).
Woodfox was convicted for the 1974 killing of Brent Miller, a prison guard.
[undefined] He served part of a 50-year sentence in Angola for armed robbery.[8]
Woodfox is the last member of The Angola Three to be released from prison. During his time in solitary confinement, he was stuck in a cell (6x9 feet) for 23 hours out of the day. [undefined]
On February 19, 2016, he was set free from the prison as part of a plea deal with Louisiana prosecutors.
On March 5, 2019, Woodfox's released his autobiography Solitary.[8]
