Alan Ruskin is Global Head of G10 FX Strategy at Deutsche Bank.
Career
Ruskin has been a Financial Economist/Strategist for over 25 years at the independent Fed watching research company MMS International in the 1980s, he was the Research Director for Europe, and managed the premier real-time currency service of the time on Telerate. In 1989, Ruskin left to co-found Ideaglobal, the independent economic forecasting group in London, UK. [1]
In 1992, he moved Ideaglobal to New York City, where he continued to run research until 1997. Ruskin was instrumental in setting up both their G10 and emerging markets, currency and interest rates products. In 1997, he left to help set up 4castโs North American operation where he was one of 5 principals and Research Director. By the time Ruskin left, the 4cast was voted the #1 independent FX service by FX Week, mirroring the earlier achievement at Ideaglobal. In January 2006, Ruskin joined Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and was Global Head of FX Strategy when he left RBS in July 2010. [1]
Education
Ruskin has a B.Sc degree in Computer Science and Statistics, a B.A (Hons) in Economics from the University of Cape Town, and an M.Sc in Economics from the London School of Economics, specializing in Monetary Economics. He is a regular guest on Financial TV, and frequently quoted in the financial press. [1]
