After graduating high school, Akilah graduated from Berea College where she received her BA in Mass communication. She studied Speech Communication and Rhetoric. She was involved in several activities and communities including: Afro Latin Percussion ensemble, house council, and Theatre.

A few years after her graduation, she studied Improv comedy at Upright Citizens Brigade in Chicago, Illinois.

Once she had graduated from college and went on to train at Upright Citizens Brigade, she worked as a Marketer, a Social media coordinator, writer and producer. She now solely focuses on her YouTube channel where she writes and stars in her sketches and various other comedic formats.
