Ahmad Nader Nadery
Ahmad Nader Nadery is a Commissioner at the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC).
He represented Afghan Civil Society at the UN peace talks for Afghanistan at the Bonn Conference 2001.
Nadery works also as Chairperson of Fair and Free Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FEFA).
He also is chairman of board of Open Society Foundation-Afghanistan.
He has written extensively on politics and human rights in Afghanistan and is a Member of the Board o f Editors of the International Journal on Transitional Justice.
He is also a member of board of directors of Afghanistan Education Programs.
He served as spokesperson for the national assembly in 2002.
Prior to his appointment at the AIHRC, he worked as Country Director for the international human rights law group (Global Rights).
Nadery has won several international awards and was recognized as an "Asian Hero" by Time magazine.
Nadery studied law and political sciences at Kabul University and earned his Master's degree in International Affairs from George Washington University.
