He has also appeared as a regular contributor on Fox News as a correspondent on faith and religion.
He is married to Ashley Nabors Bowen.

On Tuesday April 11, 2018, Bowen was arrested on multiple charges including second-degree sodomy, second-degree sexual abuse, and enticing a child to enter a vehicle/house for immoral purposes. His bonds on those charges total $90,300.
The victim in the incident is an underage male family acquaintance.
