Jewish Christian Relations

Rabbi Weisz has written in the Jerusalem Post that Evangelical support for Israel represents a “historic opportunity” for the Jewish community to fulfil their religious destiny as a “light unto the nations. The Jews and Christians have been at odds with each other for thousands of years, but now thanks to the re-emergence of the State of Israel, these two religious communities are finding a shared Biblical foundation and common goals in supporting together the Jewish State.

He has appeared on Trinity Broadcasting Network to discuss the emerging relationship between Judaism and Christianity as it relates to support for Israel and fighting against anti-Semitism. He was interviewed on “Praise the Lord” to discuss his leaving Ohio in order to establish his educational initiatives in Israel. He has spoken on Daystar Christian television to discuss his vision of “faith based diplomacy” and explain why the State of Israel needs to reach out to Christian Zionists.

In May 2013 he led a tour to Poland of Christians and Jews to visit Holocaust era concentration camps. He spoke at the “Israel Gives” Conference in October 2015 in Tel Aviv on the opportunities Israeli NGOs have in reaching out to Christian donors. The conference was attended by hundreds of Israeli non-profit executives and leaders and the topic of his talk was “500 Million Reasons Your Organization Should Reach out to Evangelical Christians.”

In the run up to the American Presidential election of 2016 he was critical of the American Jewish candidate, Bernie Sanders for his hostility towards the Jewish state. He said that Jewish voters should recognize that the Evangelical Christian community has been moving towards Israel while the liberal American Jewish community has been moving away from the Jewish state.

Activism on behalf of Jerusalem

He was interviewed by Deutsch newspaper de Volkskrant to discuss his support for the Jewish right of self-determination on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This interview was based on his popular article “We’re ready to Rebuild the Third Temple” where Weisz argued that “the Torah cannot be fulfilled perfectly and Judaism cannot be expressed fully until the Third Temple is rebuilt in Jerusalem.”

Weisz initiated an online petition where over 50,000 people signed the Jerusalem Covenant affirming the unity of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the State of Israel which he presented to Speaker of the Knesset Yuli Edelstein, MK Dov Lipman and MK Gila Gamliel.

Books

Rabbi Weisz is the editor of “The Israel Bible”, a 20 volume Hebrew-English Tanakh accompanied by a commentary about the land of Israel. He is the author of “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem” featuring the photography of Yehoshua Halevi and Biblical quotations describing the city of Jerusalem. Rabbi Weisz served as the editor of “Shabbat Shalom” a collection of articles on the weekly Torah portion written by Sondra Oster Baras.
