Joni Paladin (born Joan Peltz) is an American singer, songwriter, musician and producer, best known for her work as a soundtrack recording artist for The Heavenly Kid (as Jamie Bond) and L’operation Corned-Beef, and for her work with Sandy Pearlman and Blue Öyster Cult (as Joni Peltz).

Music career

1980’s

Joni Peltz appears as a vocalist on “Cat Dance” by Freddie Salem and the Wildcats, the solo project put together by Outlaws guitarist Freddie Salem, featuring Pat Benatar drummer Myron Grombacher and bassist Fernando Saunders.

Joni Paladin was signed to Elektra as a solo artist.

Sandy Pearlman, producer/manager of Blue Öyster Cult, produced her album, under the name Joan Paladin, however the release was postponed indefinitely. Joan Paladin recorded versions of The Motors’ “Love And Loneliness” and Icon’s ‘Frozen Tears’, penned by Bob Halligan Jr. Players included Kenny Aaronson, Tommy Zvoncheck, Thommy Price, Dave Dale, Phil Grande and Rudy Perrone. Working with Sandy Pearlman, Paladin recorded vocals for Blue Öyster Cult, credited as Joni Peltz.

She appears on Club Ninja, vocals and background vocals.

Paladin also met Eric Levi, member of “Shakin’ Street”, whose album was also produced by Sandy Pearlman.

While signed to Elektra, before the projected release of her album, Paladin recorded two tracks on The Heavenly Kid soundtrack, “Heart Of Love” and “Animal Attraction” under the pseudonym Jamie Bond, produced by George Duke. “Heart Of Love”, written by Roxanne Seeman and Billie Hughes, was released as the first single from the soundtrack album. Paladin performed the theme song "Passion for War/Love" of the French film L’operation Corned Beef.

Later Years

Joni Paladin honed her craft as a jazz singer, songwriter, composer and musician.
