Company history

1998-1999

IK released its first product GrooveMaker, a loop-remixing software package, in 1998. 1999 saw the release of T-RackS, an analog-modelled desktop mastering solution.

2000-2004

SampleTank, a multi-timbral, sample-based virtual instrument workstation plug-in, was released in 2001. **AmpliTube **, a guitar amp and fx plug-in modelling the entire rig for all platforms, is released in 2002. A new version of SampleTank was released, including a resampling engine enabling the user to independently modify the time/pitch/formant parameters of the sound samples. In 2004, IK Multimedia released Amplitube Live and Amplitube LE. [-1]

2005-2008

AmpliTube 2 is released in 2005, with several enhancements to the previous version, both in terms of modeling methods and the number of modeled amps and effects.

AmpliTube 2 was the basis for subsequent products, such as **** modelling Ampeg bass amplifiers, **Jimi Hendrix ** modeling vintage amps and FX pedals used by the famous guitarist and **** dedicated entirely to heavy metal gear. In June 2005, a co-branded version of Amplitube UNO with Guitarhoo! was released as a free download. [-1] Looking for a way to expand into the hardware market, IK releases ****, a USB adapter for guitar/bass, in 2006. ****, the first acoustic room correction system in a plug-in, follows in 2007 and ****, a pedal board capable of controlling the full range of the "Powered by AmpliTube" products, in 2008. X-GEAR followed as the first expandable Guitar/Bass fx system and a preview to the future Custom Shop now found in.

2009

, the first official Fender licensed and approved software simulation of its amps and FX was released. StealthPedal, the first interface/controller in a wah stompbox enclosure with full integration with the AmpliTube range of products for live and real time use.

2010

was the first guitar/bass interface and the first amp/fx system for iOS quickly exceeding a million downloads.

started 2011 off as the first handheld microphone for iOS devices followed with, the first professional vocalist app for iOS., the first tone shop integrated into a plug-in, also launched to worldwide acclaim. The allowed people the opportunity to buy new gear models from inside of AmpliTube, À la carte.

2012

, and helped catapult IK Multimedia into a standard for the modern mobile DJ and music producers. Bringing studio quality pianos and electric pianos to iOS devices. New iRig additions included, and which has been embraced by musicians on mobile platforms and DSLR photographers for adding hi end microphones to their mobile recording devices.

2013

, the first digital interface for Apple's Lightning (connector) for iOS devices and Macbook / iMac compatibility was released. followed a few months after with XLR connector, 1/4" jack and MIDI input. The was updated for the new iPad sizes and released as the. IK Multimedia's first full featured DAW for iOS was added to and introduced as. The Custom Shop continued with new additions from boutique audio companies such as Dr. Z Amplification, Fulltone, and Z.Vex Effects helping the Custom Shop reach over half a million users.
