In 2008, Ravindran founded Innoz, a wireless communications platform, with five friends in college in India. A few years later, he was named in Massachusetts Institute of Technology's"Top Innovators Under 35" for his work on a SmsGyan algorithm which allows users to surf the web for info through a simple SMS from their cell phone. In 2014, Ravindran became the co-founder and CEO of a location based Q&A app that's funded by over 500 startups.
Later that year he also founded LookUp (which was acquired by NowFloats), a local shopping network which uses chat to connect users with local businesses and was the fastest app in India to reach a million users. After LookUp was acquired Ravindran became the vice president of NowFloats where he served as a senior executive responsible for launching multiple products in the messaging space. In addition, he launched a business bot named UNO that worked to automate support staff on messenger platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. [undefined]
Deepak Ravindran founded the venture firm Pirate Fund in 2017. Ravindran worked several roles at Yalochat where he primarily advised on fundraising and tech. He then worked as an entrepreneur in residence at Entrepreneur First.
