ClutchPoints

ClutchPoints

ClutchPoints is a mobile app for iOS and Android that aggregates live sports information to a user's device. The app currently works for games played in the National Basketball Association. Clutchpoints brings the facts and emotions of a game together. [6]

History

ClutchPoints was founded by Nish Patel in 2012 while attending college at UCLA. It was launched on desktop and social media, accumulating 10 million followers prior to the app release in 2015. Patel describes the app as a visual version of Twitter combined with Reddit to feed real time information for live games.

Platform

The app works by collecting information about a live game from media outlets and social media.

It then delivers the information to the user so they can view up to date information on scores and news.

The algorithm for the app pulls interactions from Vine, Twitter, and other social networks and allows for viewing video highlights and comments about the game. [7]
