On Saturday July 21, 2018, Corado was fatally wounded during a standoff involving Gene Atkins and police at Trader Joe's in Silver Lake.

Authorities stated she was killed as she was exiting the Trader Joe’s during the shootout.

It is unclear if the fatal shot was fired by the gunman or a police officer.
