On the day of Christmas Eve, the 24th of December, 2016, in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo in the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, as part of the Catholic Joy to the World Festival, a Christmas carol service accidentally printed out the lyrics of 2Pac's "Hail Mary" instead of the 15th century Catholic prayer of the same name. ^[3]

About 1,000 programs were printed with the 2pac lyrics of his song.

The festival was billed as a fundraiser for “poverty alleviation projects” organised by the archdiocese of Colombo and a charity partner.
