Whitespike is a musical endeavor born of an affection for early glam, new wave and psychedelic pop music. The band is fronted by Jakob Clark, former bassist/vocalist/songwriter for the Austin, TX band BOY and Mississippi based Living Better Electrically. The group features Misha Hercules (producer and keys, also of Dent May Group and Dead Gaze), Chris Morrison (guitar) and Daniel Guaqueta (drums).

While Whitespike's music exudes feelings of rock and roll androgyny, the underlying content presents a palette of Southern guilt that could only be painted by a would-be television evangelist turned rock star. The group has a clear appreciation for things both pop and absurd, marrying odd lyrics and unique chord progressions with catchy hooks and melodies. [+]
