WalkMe works by overlaying information in "tip-balloons" in the browser window. These balloons break down online processes into step-by-step instructions. These balloons help users complete online tasks without leaving the screen to watch video tutorials or read manuals or FAQ pages. WalkMe algorithm delivers contextual guidance. This allows users automatically get the specific guidance according to their preference and language.
WalkMe Inc. was founded in 2011, and in April 2012 launched the product WalkMe. Their headquarters are at 22 fourth Street, in San Francisco, California, and the company is backed by Mangrove Capital Partners, Giza Venture Capital, Gemini Funds and ScaleVP.
In June 2015, WalkMe announced it had raised $25 million in Series D funding, bringing total investment to $42.5 million.
