Vidme is best articulated as a cross between YouTube and Imgur, and heavily influenced by Reddit. Users can upload videos anonymously and are not forced to register for an account.[7] Videos that are uploaded to the platform are organized into different categories such as gaming, entertainment, and movies that are similar to subreddits.[6] As of December of 2015, Vidme boasts 25 million unique monthly users.[6]

In April of 2015, Vidme secured $3.2 million in Series A funding. In December of 2016, Vidme received $6 million in funding led by New Enterprise Associates.[6][10]
