The Poetry Assassins is a 5-piece all-original rock band based out of Dayton, WA (Where? We're just north of the Walla Walla wine country in southeastern Washington). While the band is new, the players are not. Best described as a cross between early Elvis Costello, X, the Beatles, R.E.M., and the Foo Fighters, our music is completely original with multi-part harmonies and carefully crafted instrument interplay. Rock-British Invasion-Americana would be the only way to pigeonhole a description and that falls somewhat short. It’s a wholly unique sound That can be hear through our new album PROSAIC: http://soundcloud.com/thepoetryassassins/sets/prosaic

Toby Bailey, lead singer/songwriter who delivers like Jim Morrison on stage, has been the driving force behind Nature Boy Saints, Need For Blue, and The Verge - Seattle-based bands that were hugely popular back in the late 1990's to early 2000’s. Larry Davidson, lead guitar/songwriter & manager has played with the likes of Bill Frisell, Joe Strummer and Clarence Clemens as well as with countless bands throughout his life. Tammy Nelson, keyboards & backing vocals has been playing and singing in church all her life – we’re now corrupting her into a life of rock and roll and she’s having the time of her life. Thomas Thompson - Bass - is an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist who is mature in music well beyond his years. Copper, drums/background vocals, is also a multi-instrumentalist who brings a structure somewhere between rock, and jazz (think Ringo) to create a unique backdrop to the soundscape.

With hundreds of original songs this band has nothing but catchy, dark power-pop-rock music to deliver to your venue's patrons! [+]
