Fronted by singer-songwriter, Eddie Baci and rounded out by the rhythm section of David Wilms on drums and Bob Cullen on bass, along with the smooth leads and harmonies of Mr. Ben Howell, The New Norm creates powerful and moving music that combines a Rock edge, with power-pop hooks.
Hailing from the Greater Danbury area in Connecticut, The New Norm have set out on a mission to bring art, creativity and a solid edge back into the indie music scene.
The story of The New Norm actually begins close to 10-years ago, when Eddie Baci and David Wilms started what would be a successful string of cover bands. As they could, Baci and Wilms would infuse original music into their bands' deep well of catchy rock covers, to the point where most show attendees could not tell the difference between covers and originals! They knew for some time that they had something worth standing up and listening too! Baci and Wilms took some time off For the past two years while Baci has been working on his debut solo album, "High Above the Ruins," with Wilms lending his help along the way! In the end, the solo project was a great success, with a full-length record released in April 2015.
With the solo project complete and the solid union between Baci and Wilms still intact, the two set out on a mission to round out what would become their next great adventure, "The New Norm."
Cue Mr. Bob Cullen! Cullen, a well-accomplished, multi-instrumentalist, has been enjoying tremendous success in the cover band scene with his project, Uncorked. He and Baci met through friends several years ago and have been criss-crossing paths musically for some time. When Baci approached Cullen about starting an original rock band, Bob was all over it! With slick lines, Cullen's bass playing adds just the right amount of groove to Baci's power-pop formula.
In 2015, the band, in support of Baci's solo album, "High Above the Ruins," has ramped things up even further by adding the musical prowess of Mr. Ben Howell. Howell, masterful multi instrumentalist and singer, adds significant depth to the music with both additional rhythm guitar and blistering solos, along with harmonies.
Look for the band to be making their way around the New York/Connecticut area this year, with their eyes set on growing their fanbase and playing high-energy shows.
