On June 28th, 2018, reports on Twitter by employees of The Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland informed the public of an active shooter at their headquarters.  According to the information that was reported, the shooter killed 4 people and injured about 20 other victims. 
Law enforcement and the Sheriff of Anne Arundel County spoke with Shepard Smith.  The shooter has been apprehended and an investigation regarding the shooting has been launched. The police have closed off the building and have escorted out the remaining survivors. 
According to an intern by the name of Anthony Messenger, one of the veteran journalists at the headquarters named John McNamara was among the people shot.  The media has not confirmed if he is dead or injured.
