Strauss Zelnick is a Partner​ at ZMC (Zelnick Media Capital) and Chairman​ and CEO​ at Take-Two​.[3]


Strauss Zelnick founded ZMC, originally known as ZelnickMedia, in 2001. Working there, he is responsible for originating, structuring and monitoring investments. He currently represents ZMC as a director of Education Networks of America​ and on the board of Alloy, L.L.C.[5]


Since 2007, he also serves as a CEO and Chairman of the Board of directors​ of Take-Two Interactive Software​.[3]


Previously, Strauss Zelnick worked at Cast & Crew Entertainment Services, L.L.C. and Naylor L.L.C. He also served as Chairman​ and CEO of Columbia Music Entertainment​, Chairman of ITN​, Chairman of Direct Holdings Worldwide​ and OTX.[5]

Prior to forming ZMC, for five years, Strauss Zelnick was a President​ and CEO of BMG, being at that time one of the world's famous entertainment companies.[5]


Before joining BMG, in 1993-1995, Strauss was a President​ and CEO of Crystal Dynamics​. Prior to that, he spent several years working as a President​ and Chief operating officer​ of 20th Century Fox​, where he managed all aspects of Fox's worldwide motion picture production and Distribution business.[5]


Previously, Strauus Zelnick served for three years at Vestron Inc.​, two years as a President​ and Chief operating officer​. He also was a Vice president​ of International Television Sales at Columbia Pictures​ in 1983-1986.[5][3]


Currently, he is an associate member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame​, has served on the Board of directors​ of the Recording Industry Association of America​ and the Motion Picture Association of America​ and is a TrusteeEmeritus​ of Wesleyan University​.[7]

Personal Life

Since 1990, Strauss is married to Wendy J. Belzberg. The couple has three children.[8]

In 2015, Strauss founded a group Fitness club​ "The Program", which meets four times a week for a variety of intense, early morning Workout​s.[4]


In 1979-1983, Strauss was a student of Harvard Business School​ and obtained MBA​ there. During these years he also studied at the Harvard Law School​ and received JD degree​. Prior to that, in 1979, he graduated Summa cum laude​ from Wesleyan University​ with B.A​ in English and Psychology​.[3]
