Sarah Granger is an author, blogger, speaker and entrepreneur. Her articles have been read by millions of readers, reaching dozens of countries and translated into several languages. She played a lead role in Artloop, an online art database company, and Net Daemons Associates (aka NDA, a venture-backed IT services company later acquired by Interliant). As a digital strategist, her company, Leading in Digital, LLC, works with for-profit and nonprofit organizations in multiple countries, providing community-driven strategies for social engagement and online communications. She also advises Internet, digital media and mobile startups in order to build the pipeline of diverse entrepreneurs. She is currently a TechWomen Impact Advisor, mentoring women in Uzbekistan. Sarah has been an active advocate on technology policy issues (digital governance, intellectual property, security, privacy, voting, innovation and accessibility) through working with several organizations including the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and serving on their U.S. Public Policy Council, the Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and the Center for Technology, Media & Society. She is currently a Fellow at the Truman National Security Project and former Co-Chair of their Cybersecurity Expert Group. She participated in the World Summit on the Information Society at the United Nations in 2003. She began her career working in cybersecurity for the Department of Energy.


Sarah has been a keynote speaker, panelist, organizer and moderator at numerous conferences including South by Southwest Interactive, BlogHer, TEDx Bay Area, California Leadership Forum, Stanford’s Innovation Journalism, Startup Women Forum in Russia, the Tech Policy Summit, the U.S. State Department’s Tech Camp, and more. She also works with academic institutions on papers and workshops, such as Georgetown University, Stanford University and American University.
