Songwriter and multi instrumentalist Roy Schneider, along with duo partner Kim Mayfield, have toured through 37 states in their Honda Odyssey nicknamed "Ulysses," bringing their tasty and beguiling stew of roots, folk and Americana music to all who will listen.
Roy’s songs have earned praise in the Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition, Telluride Blues & Brews Acoustic Blues competition, and Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist showcase. The duo has also performed official showcases at Folk Alliance conferences in New York, Austin, and Asheville, NC. Other notable venues include Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, Yorkshire England’s MAD Fest, and Roy’s appearance as a contestant on season 5 of NBC’s “The Voice.”
Schneider has raised over $20,000 through fan funding to produce and promote 2012’s “Walls That Talk”, which debuted at #3 on the Folk DJ Chart, and 2015’s “Ten From the Pen,” which is currently charting on Roots and Americana radio. Gurf Morlix served as
“production guidance counselor” on the latter, reviewing song choices and providing invaluable feedback throughout the mixing process.
Also a gifted accompanist, Roy has performed with John McEuen, Gove Scrivenor, Buddy Mondlock, Freebo, Joe Crookston, The Brothers Comatose, and Tom Paxton among others. [+]
