The members of this band come from many different backgrounds from across the United States which helped create a sound uniquely their own, joining rock n roll, jazz, hip-hop, and new wave genres. Not to mention, the stage is always on fire!

Rough Draftz met while members in the University of Arkansas' Marching Band. What started out as a musical side project in April of 2010 soon became what Kyle, Alan, Hank, and Clay will say defined their college years. As their popularity grew in the Northwest Arkansas area, so did their venues. Winner of the 2011 University of Arkansas Battle of the Band Winner.

On May 3, 2011, Rough Draftz was the opening act for Margot and the Nuclear So-and-So's at the University of Arkansas' Headliner Spring Concert Series held at the outdoor amphitheater, Chi Omega Greek Theater. http://www.fayettevilleflyer.com/2011/05/03/tuesday-to-do-may-3/

Our music has been thoroughly thought through to involve the audience as much as possible. The theme of a live performance is "Black Light Dance Party". The show starts, the dance floor fills up. Our ultimate goal is for every person to leave our concert sweaty...but only in a good way!

This 10-track album culminates everything that has helped Rough Draftz to this point: friends, family, and freakin' funky dance parties!

Members: Alan Andrae, Clay Johnson, Hank Miller, Kyle Russell - all members are music majors at the University of Arkansas (two have graduated).

Accomplishments: 2011 University of Arkansas Battle of the Bands Winner, Featured Article in The Arkansas Traveler (www.facebook.com/RoughDraftz?sk=info), Performed at the University of Arkansas' Chi Omega Theater for the U of A's Headliner Concert Series, Featured Performers at the University of Arkansas' "Grooving on the Grass"

Press quotes from Lara Alley's article "Rough Draftz Represent Local Talent And Take Home Prize" in The Arkansas Traveler: "The eclectic band was derived from bits and pieces of tracks from different members, which turned into the early stages of their music — the rough draft, if you will." "Their ability to not stick with one particular genre, but to take influence from a variety of sounds is what makes the group standout from other local entertainers." "Miller prefers a heavier drum-based sound while other members like Johnson prefer a more funk-based vibe." "The band’s charming array of personalities will keep you moving and excited at their live show as well."
