Randall Margraves is a resident of Michigan and the father of three girls who were molested by Larry Nassar. He gained fame in February 2018 after charging towards Nassar in a hearing after being convicted of sexual abusing Margraves' three daughters.
Larry Nassar Sentencing
On February 2, 2018, Randall Margraves attended the third and final sentencing hearing for Larry Nassar. Nassar pleaded guilty to abusing 10 underage girls, and was accused of sexual abuse by more than 250 others.
Two of the Randall Margraves' daughters, Madison and Lauren, appeared in court that day and told the judge that they and another sister had been sexually abused by Nassar under the guise of medical treatment. Lauren Margraves, testified in court that Nassar molested her during an appointment when she was 13 years old.
After their testimonies, Randall Margraves asked if he could speak. After being granted permission, he cursed at Nassar for his actions and asked Eaton County Judge Janice Cunningham the following:
I would ask you to, as part of this sentencing, to grant me five minutes in a locked room with this demon. Would you do that?
Judge Cunningham attempted to respond by saying that she could not grant him his request. Margraves altered his request by asking if he could have one minute instead.
After his request was denied a second time, Randall sprinted towards Nassar, attempting to attack him. He was blocked by Larry Nassar's attorney, Matt Newburg, and tackled by three sheriff's deputies. While on the ground and being place in handcuffs, he repeatedly said, “I want that son of a bitch.”
When a woman in attendance reprimanded Randall, he told her that she had "not lived through this". As Randall was being escorted out of the room, he asked the officers to imagine what it would feel like if it happened to them.
For the remainder of the morning's impact statements, Margraves spent time in a holding cell, but was not punished or charged of any crimes. He later appeared before Judge Cunningham and apologized for his outburst.
