Kabessa was born in Elai Sinai, Gaza Strip Israel to Avik and Toshu Kabessa five years before the Israeli disengagement from Gaza. Raised largely in New York, Kabessa spent the early years of his childhood in Queens, followed by Rye, New York. At the age of 15, Nir's family returned to Israel, where he attended Walworth Barbour American International School.
Nir Kabessa has established himself as a leader in the blockchain community of New York City. Whether it’s organizing a speaker talk at Blockchain at Columbia or building a decentralized app (dApp), Nir has built up his credentials. Kabessa participated in initial coin offerings of projects such as iExec, BAT, and TenX. In the wake of this, he applied his skills in technical analysis and community building to assemble two structures: Eden Block - a research and investment vehicle based in Tel Aviv focused on early stage ICOs and The Block - an international community and media publication designed to produce content and commentary. Eden Block is partnered with entities such as Neo Global Capital, Ontology, Polyswarm, and TomoChain. The Block has a strong Slack cohort and thousands of readers on Medium. Its writers have been featured on Hackernoon, Investopedia, and Furtherfield.
