Early Life and Education

Nobel was born in Baltimore, Maryland and attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where graduated with a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts in Painting.[1][4] In addition, she took classes at the Royal College of art through the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied figure painting.[4] Upon graduating from Santa Cruz, she moved to San Francisco to pursue at career in art.[4]

Career

Nobel has been active in the art scene since the mid-1990s and her goal through her art is to represent all aspects of human interaction from neurology to sociality within our contemporary society, especially in interactions with technology.[4][2] In 1992 she began developing a drawing language that, for better or worse, connects us to computers.[4] In 2004, she had a solo show at the Cartelle Gallery that was cyrated by Sam Freedman and Heather Harmon.[4] At the 2009 exhibit at the Los Angeles L2Kontemporary Gallery titled “Mo’ Flow: Blots & Trails,” Nobel worked with fabricator Jack Brogan to create her “Overview” paintings that were shown there.[4] In 2011, Nobel set up her studio in Inglewood where it is currently located on La Brea Avenue.[4]

The themes in Nobel’s art mainly explore ideas about technology, science and human connection.[4] Lindsey’s artistic process stems from investigating memory, dislocation and environment.[4]

Nobel’s art has been exhibited around the world at several places including Restelli Art, Rome, and Cartelle Gallery, Los Angeles.[4]
