Legion is a hacker group that acts as an online vigilante and has been hacking websites and social media accounts of public figures, famous and infamous, in India . In an interview with The Washington Post through an encrypted instant-messaging software Legion claimed that they had access to over 40,000 servers in India .
Some prominent public figures that Legion has targeted so far include Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi , TV journalists Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar , and liquor baron Vijay Mallya. The group warned that their next target is former Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi.

Their trademark sign-off line is "We are Legion!"
