Early Life & Education
Yasmin Gagne grew up in Haiti, Saudi Arabia, Brussels, and London. In England she studied at Marymount International School and Sevenoaks School.
Gagne graduated from Columbia University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and Society. She was involved in the Columbia Daily Spectator and the Columbia Residential Programs.
Career
Since March 2018, Yasmin Gagne has worked as an Editorial Assistant at Fast Company. She has written articles for the publication including, "Manhattan’s Hudson Yards is the neighborhood of the future", "How the blockchain is changing the art market", and "Inside Tencent’s new $599 million Shenzhen headquarters". Gagne was previously the Assistant to Deputy Editor Stephanie Mehta at Vanity Fair. She also wrote a piece for Vanity Fair titled, "Behind the Scenes: V.F.’s Women Entrepreneurs of Color Photo Shoot".
From 2016-2017, Gagne worked as an Associate at SKDKnickerbocker. She wrote and editedspeeches, press releases and op-eds for clients. She worked on digital and social media campaigns for political and public affairs clients. Gagne also served as a production assistant on several TV political ads being produced for the Democratic Party. Gagne was previously an Atlantic Media Fellow at Quartz from 2015-2016. She researched and wrote sponsored content articles for clients in finance, tech, and healthcare industries. She pitched branded content articles and graphic concepts to clients. She also developed concepts for branded content graphics and articles for clients.
From 2014-2015, she interned with The New York Times, while studying at Columbia. Gagne assisted DealBook Editor Andrew Ross Sorkin with special projects. She wrote copy for in-house advertising and helped test the user-experience for the NYTNow mobile app. She also managed social media feeds for business and content initiatives.
While studying at Columbia, Gagne worked as a Resident Advisor from 2012-2015.
She also worked for the Columbia Daily Spectator from 2012-2014. Gagne worked as an Editorial Page Editor managing 14 regular columns for the paper. She was previously a Deputy News Editor for the paper and oversaw four beat chiefs. In the summer of 2012, Gagne began her career in the media as an intern for the International Herald Tribune.
