Yara Elmjouie (Farsi: يارا علم جويى) is an Iranian-American video journalist and producer for AJ+.

Elmjouie was born to and raised by Iranian parents in Northern California, and is a 2009 graduate of Los Gatos High School. In 2013 Elmjouie graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from New York University with a BA in Political Science and Middle East Studies.

Soon after graduating from NYU, Elmjouie relocated to Tehran, Iran where he worked as a translator and freelance journalist for two years, during which time his work appeared in outlets such as The Guardian's Tehran Bureau, Vox Media's Polygon, Time, and Al Monitor. Elmjouie returned to the Bay Area in late 2015, and, following a brief stint in public relations, joined the staff of AJ+ in 2016.
