Xulhaz Mannan was a worker in the United States of America embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Additionally, he was the editor for an LGBT magazine, Roopban.

[2]He launched Roopban in 2014 with the goal of building a "platform and publication promoting human rights and freedom to love in Bangladesh."

On April 24th, 2016 he and Tanay Mojumdar were hacked to death by 5 or 6 men who entered the embassy disguised as couriers.
