He was born on May 14, 1989 in Charleston, South Carolina. He grew up with his parents in Jacksonville, Florida, Florida where he was raised alongside with his sister.
He enrolled into Florida A&M University in 2008, but moved to Los Angeles in 2012 before completing his major.
Career

He started out as a professional dancer in 2012 when he moved from Florida to Los Angeles.
He soon made a name for himself as a back-up dancer, performing for renowned artists and bands like Chris Brown and Fifth Harmony.
He soon started posting videos of him dancing with Chris Brown on his Vine account, after being introduced to the platform by a friend. Soon his funny videos on the short looping video platform Vine had earned him a huge fan base, kick-starting his social media journey. He always had a knack for making people laugh, as well as create exciting content, which he decided to explore by creating a YouTube channel and posting funny skit videos on it.
Soon he uploaded a very funny comedy skit titled 'Kevin Hart | Permission to Cuss' the video went viral and drawing the attention of Kevin Hart who then signed him to his production company, HartBeat Digital, in December 2015, to produce more skits and comic videos.
He came into the limelight for portraying American R&B and pop singer, songwriter, actor and dancer, Bobby Brown, in BET’s 2017 miniseries 'The New Edition Story', for which he won the 'Black Reel Awards for Television' as the 'Outstanding Actor, TV Movie/Limited Series'.
He has also acted in other movies like 'Training Day', 'Tales', 'Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac Shakur and the The Notorious BIG.', and 'Giants', as well as the video shorts 'You're Sexist' and 'A Little Closure'.
He now executive produces a series titled 'Stories with Kev' and also plays Kevin in a streaming series on Hart's top rated streaming video service, 'Laugh Out Loud', which releases a new video every Friday.
He worked as an internet personality making 1.1+ million followers on Facebook and also did a minor role in the Canal Street 2018 movie as MayMay.

He was once married to Late Whitney Houston who died in 2012 due to a drug overdose. He was in the news a lot due to the fact that his late wife who was an actress and singer was in a secret relationship with Robyn Crawford.
His favorite celebrities are Matt Damon and Alexandra Daddario. He enjoys Listening to music, Playing Football, and Traveling. He once tweeted in 2011 that he will date a white woman if he claims fame and that Black women are overrated in one of his Tweet.
He is a huge fan of basketball player LeBron James and supports whichever team he plays for. He is also a music producer who has a group called 'BandGeeks' with one of his school friends named Damon. They were in a marching band together at FAMU. He plays the instrument tuba.
